The Great Brahadesshwarar temple in thanjavur was built during his rule and its one of the worlds heritage site. The construction of the temple reportedly completed on the 275th day of the 25th year of his reign. After its commemoration, the great temple and the capital had close business relations with the rest of the country and acted as a center of both religious and economic activity. Year after year villages from all over the country had to supply men and material for the temple maintenance.
Raja Raja Chozhan died a natural death. He died at 67 years of age. The conspiracy of death surrounds his brothers death Adithya Karikalan, not Raja Rajan. His burrial place/tomb is not well maintained. It is somewhere on the highway between Tanjore and Kumbakonam, to be precise the name of the village is Udayalur. Only selected ancestral families of the Chozhas visit this place every now and then. There are mixed opinion regarding the burial place, from the archaeology department. But the natives around there firmly believe that this is the burial place of Raja Raja Chozhan.
His resting place is in a small village called Udayalur near Kumbakonam in the South Indian state Tamil Nadu. The village seems to be a less explored region and there have been different versions from historians about Udayalur and also the King Raja Raja.
